The Colon is the local currency and the following exchange
rates were valid early 2006:
1 US$ = 525 Colon
1 £ = 920 Colon
1 € = 640 Colon So not only will you learn Spanish, you will train your brain
as well converting Colons to your currency! The US dollar
is widely accepted as currency but you will always be better
of paying in Colons. VISA and MasterCard credit cards are widely accepted in Costa
Rica. Restaurants almost always include a 10% service charge. Climate Costa Rica has a year round tropical climate with a dry season
that runs from December to April and a wet season that runs
from May to November. Airport The central international airport of Costa Rica is located
near San José. Electricity Costa Rica has a 110 voltage network identical to the USA.
You may need an adaptor for personal appliances if you travel
from Europe or Asia. Daily expenses Costa Rica has two faces: one, the more expensive one, in
those places that are frequented by tourists and two, the
much cheaper one, in those places that are just around the
corner from tourist spots. You will soon learn your way around
