Babylon Idiomas Newsletter

Hola Babylonian,

Summer is almost here which is traditionally the busiest season for our schools in Barcelona and Valencia. Make sure you book your course soon to avoid disappointment!

In this newsletter we'd like to share with you Five Ideas to improve your Spanish. But what about having fun outside of the classroom? In this newsletter you'll also find the best bars in town according to your editor.

If you have ideas or suggestions about how we can improve our newsletter, let us know! Send your remarks to sugerencias@babylon-idiomas.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Five Ideas to improve your Spanish

    Question

1. Buy a Spanish newspaper
Almost everywhere in the world you'll be able to find a Spanish newspaper. Regardless of your level, pick an article whose subject you're familiar with. Read the article a couple of times and use a dictionary to look up all the words you are familiar with. Do this every week and you'll notice that your vocabulary grows spectacularly. Of course, you can find all your favourite Spanish newspapers online.

2. Watch a Spanish movie
It's easy, it's fun and it definitely helps you improve your comprehension skills. Make sure of course you watch the movie with the original sound track. Use subtitles to make sure you enjoy the story line :) You'll find a great overview of Spanish films on the website of the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

3. Set up an Intercambio
An "intercambio" is a language exchange where you meet up with someone and converse in each others languages. Not only is this a great way to improve your Spanish, you're also likely to make new friends! There are many ways to find someone where ever you live. You can always try our forum to find someone to talk to find your intercambio partner.

4. Use our forum
Speaking of which. If you have a question regarding the Spanish language, you can always post your question on our forum. An easy and fun way to quickly improve your Spanish and share your question & answer with everyone else: visit our forum.

5. Enrol with a Spanish language school
Of course we hope you'll choose Babylon Idiomas. There is no faster way to improve your Spanish than to learn it where it is spoken. Regardless if you are looking to join our program for one year or for a week, you'll notice that your Spanish language skills grow every day! Learn Spanish where it is spoken.

Best bars in Town

    Bar Sevilla

Barcelona: La Vinya del Senyor. Opposite the beautiful church Santa Maria del Mar, you'll find this wine bar which offers a great selection of wines (by the bottle and by the glass) for a very good price. Try to get a seat on the terrace.

Madrid: Bar Viva Madrid. Very near to our school in Madrid, you'll find one of the most hip & happening but still classic Madrid bars. Mingle with the Spanish crowd in the front bar or find your way to the more intimate bar upstairs.

Sevilla: Hotel Doņa Maria. One of the best places in Sevilla to enjoy a drink late afternoon or early evening is on the rooftop terrace of this hotel. Just walk past reception to the elevator, hit the top button and presto, you've found yourself the best views of the cathedral and a cool place to hang out. Make sure you sit in the shade or apply your sunscreen!

Valencia: La Bolseria. Ok, this may be a bar you'd find by yourself. We just want to make sure you go there! Live music most evenings, a great mix of locals and visitors, good vibes, this is the place to see and be seen.

New course: Espaņol Expres 20 / 30

Learn Spanish very, very fast!

If you need to learn Spanish fast but do not have the time for group classes, you may want to consider Espaņol Expres. This is essentially a program set up around private classes with an intensity of 20 hours (Espaņol Expres 20) or 30 hours (Espaņol Expres 30) per week.

The teaching hours are split into blocks of 2 hours and each block is taught by a different teacher. This keeps you and the teacher fresh!

This program is ideal for students who need to learn Spanish for business purposes. Our teachers are more than happy to focus on your practical needs (conversations you are likely to have in your daily business) to ensure you hit the ground running.

Madrid Madness

Book your intensive course for Euro 100 per week Madrid Students

To celebrate the opening of our new school in Madrid, we're practically giving away our Spanish courses. For as long as the promotion lasts, you can sign up for the intensive Spanish course (20 hours per week) for Euro 100. That is a 33% discount on the regular price.
