Babylon Idiomas Newsletter

What course length can you recommend?

Hola Babylonian,

We believe that learning a new language is one of the best investments you can make in your life. It opens a door to a whole new world of ideas and people.

The European Union has provided a framework to label the different levels of language knowledge:

  • Beginner (A1),

  • Low Intermediate (A2),

  • High Intermediate (B1),

  • Advanced (B2),

  • Superior (C1) and

  • Proficiency (C2).

The earlier levels take approximately 4 to 5 weeks to complete so if you want to reach a High Intermediate level, we recommend to study for at least 12 weeks.

This does not take away the fact that a short term course already brings you a lot of joy and knowledge. Sure, you will not be fluent after one week of classes, but the door will have opened a little bit and you will have laid the foundation to explore more.

If you already speak (some) Spanish, then a short term course is great to refresh your knowledge and work towards a higher level. Many students come back to gradually improve their Spanish language skills.

The structure of our academic program allows you to decide the exact number of weeks you want to invest in learning Spanish. With new courses starting every week, you are completely in control of your program. We're there for you to help you open those doors whenever you're ready.

Barcelona: La Mercè

The City's Biggest Festival Merce

When the end of the summer arrives, there is one extra reason to be cheerful: the Mercé festival. During the last weekend of September, the city comes alive with live music, fireworks, fire breathing dragons and human towers.

On almost every major square and in every major park you will find a range of activities. Plan your Mercè well ahead because it will simply not be possible to see everything :)

The biggest Flamenco festival

...underway now in Sevilla flamenco

Every other year, anyone who has a little bit of Flamenco blood in her or his veins comes to Sevilla to celebrate the "Bienal de Flamenco".

During this festival that takes place from mid September until mid October you see many Flamenco shows but also learn about Flamenco at workshops and presentations.

Amazing architecture in Valencia Santiago Calatrava

One of the many things that make Valencia special is the architecture of one of its own sons: Santiago Calatrava. To some it looks like he picked up where Antoni Gaudí left off with organic looking structures that although unusual, immediately please the eye.

Where Gaudí used stone, Calatrava uses steel and modern engineering to create structures that often defy logic. One of his most beautiful creations is the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias here in Valencia.
