>>> Did you know … [V] [BA] [B] <<<

that the month of July brings all sorts of events to Valencia under the name of 'Feria de Julio'? You definitely shouldn't miss the closing act of this July Fair: the Battle of Flowers (Batalla de Flores). It takes place the 25th of July. Supposedly it’s a spectacular parade of coaches which are decorated with flowers. And as if these flowers are not enough, the public throws thousands of flowers and petals.

Cachondos, written by Dario Cortés, is performed in Teatro Vital in Buenos Aires? I quote: ‘Cachondos es un espectáculo lleno de humor absurdo …… y musical’. You can go see this play on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are twelve dollars.

that you can watch a movie in open air and take a swim afterwards in the pool of Bernat Picornell on the Mont Juic in Barcelona? This week you can go see Cuando menos te lo esperas, Cold Mountain and Goodbye, Lenin! Tickets cost € 7, the movie starts at 22.30 and the pool stays open until 2.30 in the morning.

>>> Spanish film review <<<

Movie: La mala educación
Director: Pedro Almodóvar
Last words: ‘No es mío, es de Enrique.’
Public:

43 people, 9 men, rest women, every one older than 26

To see or not to see?

  Well, let’s be honest, there’s a big chance you’ve already seen this film. It’s been playing for months now. But still, if you haven’t and you’re up for a story you don’t encounter much in movies today, if you enjoy a little drama, a little love, a little sex, a little humour, you should go and check it out.

A little, a little… Although I don’t really want to give my opinion: A lot of ‘little’ makes a great movie. If you’re a beginner in Spanish you should bring a friend who can explain some of the dialogues, because at times they speak very fast. But even if there were no words used at all, the appearance of one of the main characters is worthy of your time…
