¿Qué? |
¡Hola Babylonians!
Q: I travel by myself, will it be easy to meet people at the school?
A: One of the most important things for us at Babylon Idiomas is to make you feel at home from your first day. Our school only has six classrooms which makes it so much easier to know everybody by name and mingle with all the students.
Not unimportantly, the school's large outdoor terrace and living room provide the right environment to relax outisde of the class hours and get to know each other. The weekly activities that we organise of course also help to make new friends [see picture on the right]!

Barcelona - Part 5: Empire no more |
|

|
The power in the The Kingdom of Catalonia started to shift towards Aragón when in 1410 the Catalan King Martin died without any heirs. The new King (Fernando I) came from Aragón and he took the throne out of Barcelona. Then in the late 15th century, two events sealed the fate of Catalonia and Barcelona.
Firstly, in 1479 Fernando II married Isabel of Castile which united the Kingdoms of Castile, Aragón and Catalonia. Secondly, in 1492, Columbus discovered America and this shifted the importance of trade completely from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic. With the loss of political power and economic importance, the influence and wealth of Barcelona steadily declined in the 16th and 17th century. Click here to see a historical map of Spain.
