¿Qué?

¡Hola Babylonians!

Q: So what do the students think of Babylon Idiomas?

A: You can now read the comments of our students on our website. You can also contact most of these students directly if you have any questions. Here are some examples:

Linn-Ingunn from Norway: "Hola! I had a great time at the school and would highly recommend it. The atmosphere is very personal, and the teachers are really good at making learning fun!"

John from the USA: "Excellent learning experience with great teachers. The school's small class size is very important to effectively learning Spanish."

Judit from Hungary: "It is a great school to learn Spanish. The groups are small so it is easy to get to know each other and make friends, and the teachers have more time for you too. They are super friendly and patient and open to different cultures. Sometimes I get the idea that they have more fun in the class than any of us. They are just great, I mean it! So here you can learn and have fun at the same time. (Not to mention the school parties on the beach...)"

Intercambio!

Going to school is one thing, practicing your Spanish in the "real" world is something different. One great way to practice your Spanish without feeling the pressure to get it right the first time is Intercambio. This is a very straightforward language exchange between you (wanting to practice your Spanish) and a Spanish person who wants to practice a foreign language. You go for lunch somewhere or go for a coffee and on one occasion you speak Spanish together and on the next occasion the other language. Easy as 1-2-3 and a great way to meet new people! Barcelona - Part 4: The Great Empire

After the consolidation of the different counties around Barcelona which made up a young Catalonia, the first expansion was towards the North across the Pyrenees where through marriage and conquest, a sizeable coastal strip of France was added in the 12th century. Although these territories were soon lost, the Catalan King James I "The Conqueror" managed to raise the Catalan flag on the Balearic islands, Valencia and Sicily in the 13th century.

The Catalan empire reached its zenith with the troubled conquest of Sardinia and even nominally ruled Athens in the 14th century and Naples in the early 15th century.Barcelona, as its capital had truly become one of the major cities of the world. Catalonia was however too small to keep all these possession together and relied heavily on local warlords and treaties to govern its empire. With a strong Castile nation developing next door in the 15th century, the worries of Catalonia were no longer about its overseas territories but about staying alive as an independent nation.
