On the Eastern outskirts of Madrid, you can find a new type of Zoo. Yes, they have animals and no, they can’t run away but at Faunia, they’ve made a serious attempt to be closer to the animal kingdom than at many other Zoo’s that I’ve visited in my life. You’ll find animals everywhere around you as you walk through the park. The vast majority in their own “natural” environment but quite a few outside of enclosures.
